SEAT HEATER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH (LH SIDE) (w/o Climate Control Seat System)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Seat Heater Switch (LH Side))

      Check the seat heater switch (LH side).

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 - 9 Seat heater switch on Below 1 Ω 7 - 9 Seat heater switch off 2.72 to 4.08 kΩ Seat heater switch on (Vol: max.) 280 to 420 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch (LH side).

   2. Check the switch illumination and indicator.

      
      

      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch (LH side) and check that the switch illumination and each indicator come on.

         OK
         Battery Connection Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → 9 Battery negative (-) → 4 Seat heater switch on Indicator comes on Battery positive (+) → 8 Battery negative (-) → 2 Always Switch illumination comes on

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch (LH side).

2. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH (RH SIDE) (w/o Climate Control Seat System)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Seat Heater Switch (RH Side))

      Check the seat heater switch (RH side).

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance
         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 - 7 Seat heater switch on Below 1 Ω 5 - 7 Seat heater switch off 2.72 to 4.08 kΩ Seat heater switch on (Vol: max.) 280 to 420 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch (RH side).

   2. Check the switch illumination and indicator.

      
      

      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch (RH side) and check that the switch illumination and each indicator come on.

         OK
         Battery Connection Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → 7 Battery negative (-) → 3 Seat heater switch on Indicator comes on Battery positive (+) → 6 Battery negative (-) → 1 Always Switch illumination comes on

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch (RH side).

3. INSPECT SEAT HEATER SWITCH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

   
   
   1. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Seat Heater Switch)

      Check the seat heater switch.

      
      

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

         Standard Resistance

         Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 6 - 5 Seat heater switch (LH side) on (heater position) Below 1 Ω 1 - 5 Seat heater switch (LH side) off 2.17 to 4.03 kΩ Seat heater switch (LH side) on (Vol: 3) (heater position) 280 to 520 Ω 11 - 5 Seat heater switch (RH side) on (heater position) Below 1 Ω 2 - 5 Seat heater switch (RH side) off 2.17 to 4.03 kΩ Seat heater switch (RH side) on (Vol: 3) (heater position) 280 to 520 Ω 8 - 10 Always 1 kΩ 8 - 7 Seat heater switch (LH side) off 1.54 to 2.86 kΩ Seat heater switch (LH side) on (Vol: 3) (blower position) Below 1 Ω 8 - 9 Seat heater switch (RH side) off 1.54 to 2.86 kΩ Seat heater switch (RH side) on (Vol: 3) (blower position) Below 1 Ω

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.

   2. Check the switch illumination and indicators.

      
      

      1. Apply battery voltage to the seat heater switch and check that the switch illumination and each indicator come on.

         OK

         Battery Connection Condition Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → 5 Battery negative (-) → 12 Seat heater switch (LH side) on (heater position) Indicator comes on Seat heater switch (LH side) on (blower position) Indicator comes on Seat heater switch (RH side) on (heater position) Indicator comes on Seat heater switch (RH side) on (blower position) Indicator comes on Battery positive (+) → 4 Battery negative (-) → 3 Always Switch illumination comes on

         If the result is not as specified, replace the seat heater switch.
