FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY(for Manual Seat) REMOVAL

CAUTION:


  • Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

  • Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

  • If the front seat airbag assembly was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, separate type front seatback spring assembly, separate type front seatback pad and separate type front seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  • If the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH was deployed, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH, separate type front seat cushion spring assembly, separate type front seat cushion pad and separate type front seat cushion cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the front seat headrest assembly from the front seat assembly.

  4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER


    1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  6. REMOVE SEAT TRACK COVER


    1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the foremost position.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the seat track cover as shown in the illustration.

  7. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    2. A002BJE

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the inner seat track bracket cover as shown in the illustration.

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Driver Side)

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Operate the vertical adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the uppermost position.

    5. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the center position.

    6. Operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

    7. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        *a White Housing Lock
        *b Yellow CPA
        B003ZIE Slide

        Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

        Note

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    8. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly.

      Remove the front seat assembly.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Front Passenger Side)


    1. A002BL6

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

    3. A002CM1

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the front seat assembly to the center position.

    5. Operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

    6. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector under the front seat assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

        *a White Housing Lock
        *b Yellow CPA
        B003ZIE Slide

        Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

      2. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.

        Note

        Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

    7. w/ Front Seat Airbag Sub-assembly RH


      1. Slide the slider to release the lock, and then disconnect the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH connector under the front seat assembly.

        Note

        When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    8. Disconnect each connector and disengage each clamp under the front seat assembly.

      Remove the front seat assembly.
