SRS SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG ASSEMBLY ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

CAUTION:

Be sure to correctly follow the removal and installation procedures for the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle not Involved in Collision)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH installed on the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Scratches, broken or frayed threads on the surface of the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

      • Small cracks on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

      • Significant discoloration on the front seat cushion assembly around the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the separate type front seat cushion pad or separate type front seat cushion cover with a new one.

  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT AIRBAG SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Vehicle Involved in Collision and Airbag not Deployed)


    1. Perform a diagnostic system check.

    2. Visually check for defects with the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH removed from the vehicle.

      Tech Tips

      The defects are as follows:


      • Cuts

      • Small cracks

      • Significant discoloration

      • Marks from being dropped

      • Cracks or other damage to the wire harness or connector

      • Deformation of the installation surface of the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH

      OK
      No defects are found.

      If any defects are found, replace the front seat airbag sub-assembly RH with a new one.
