BACK DOOR COURTESY SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Back Door System)

      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Back Door Lock Assembly)

      *b Open-latch
      *c Half-latch
      *d Full-latch
      *e Over-latch

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3 (CTY) - 4 (E) Open-latch Below 1 Ω
      3 (CTY) - 4 (E) Half-latch Below 1 Ω
      3 (CTY) - 4 (E) Full-latch 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (CTY) - 4 (E) Over-latch 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly.

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (w/o Power Back Door System)

      *a Lock
      *b Unlock
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      (Back Door Lock Assembly)

      Inspect the back door lock motor.


      1. Move the back door lock to the lock position.

      2. Apply battery voltage to the back door lock motor and check the operation of the back door lock motor.

        OK
        Measurement Condition Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → 2 (ACT+)

        Battery negative (-) → 1 (ACT-)

        Always Back door lock motor unlock operation

        If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly.

    2. Inspect the back door courtesy light switch.


      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        2 (ACT+) - 3 (D+) Lock 10 kΩ or higher
        2 (ACT+) - 3 (D+) Unlock Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the back door lock assembly.
