DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the operation of the following lights:

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.*1

  • As the door control battery is installed between the vehicle battery and main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), first perform the inspections in On-Vehicle Inspection to confirm that there are no malfunctions in the power source circuit for the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) before performing this troubleshooting procedure.*2

Tech Tips

The DOME CUT relay supplies power to the interior lights. If all the lights that use power from the DOME CUT relay do not turn on, check the interior light auto cut circuit first.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK MODEL


    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Illuminated Entry System Turns on the lights that are controlled by the illuminated entry system* ON or OFF Perform the Active Test with interior light DOOR switch in the map light assembly turned on.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the 4D instrument panel junction block connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4D-12 - S1-9 (CTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      4D-12 or S1-9 (CTY) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  6. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
