U0100 Lost Communication with ECM / PCM "A"

DESCRIPTION

The engine control unit and transmission control unit are located inside the ECM. The engine control unit intercommunicates with the transmission control ECU with the Controller Area Network (CAN).

If there is a problem in this intercommunication, the ECM store this DTC.

  • Following conditions are met for 1.25 seconds (1 trip detection logic):


    1. Ignition switch ON

    2. Battery voltage is 10.5 V or more

    3. No intercommunication between engine control ECU and transmission control ECU

 ECM Comes on DTC stored

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC U0100)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.


      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result
      Result Proceed to
      Only DTC U0100 is output A
      U0100 and other DTCs are output B
