PRECAUTION
Note
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH
DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR SEAL LH
REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE SEAL RH
REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
REMOVE BATTERY
DISCONNECT NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.
Note
Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 4 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.
DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.
Note
Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 3 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.
DISCONNECT INLET NO. 2 OIL COOLER HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil cooler.
Note
Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.
DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 3 OIL COOLER HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil cooler.
Note
Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.
DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE

Remove the transmission oil cooler tube clamp.
Slide the clip and disconnect the outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose.
DISCONNECT NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE
Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler union sub-assembly.
REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITHOUT HOSE

Slide the clip and disconnect the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the connector tube.
Note
Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and connector tube.
Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly and engine mounting bracket LH.

Slide the 3 clips and remove the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose, inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose and outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose from the No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER
Remove the 3 bolts.
Disengage the hook to remove the transmission oil cooler from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.
Note
Use a container to catch any coolant and automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil cooler.
REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL THERMOSTAT

| *2 | Outlet No. 1 Oil Cooler Hose |
Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.
Note
Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat, No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose.

Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 2 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.
Note
Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat, No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 2 oil cooler hose.
Remove the bolt and transmission oil thermostat from the oil cooler stay.

Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat.
