OIL COOLER REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

    Click here

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH

    Click here

  6. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  7. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE DEFLECTOR SEAL LH

    Click here

  8. REMOVE RADIATOR SIDE SEAL RH

    Click here

  9. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

    Click here

  10. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE

    Click here

  12. REMOVE BATTERY

    Click here

  13. DISCONNECT NO. 4 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 4 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 4 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.

  14. DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant which flows out of the No. 3 water by-pass hose and transmission oil cooler.

  15. DISCONNECT INLET NO. 2 OIL COOLER HOSE


    1. A0029KD

      Slide the clip and disconnect the inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.

  16. DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 3 OIL COOLER HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil cooler.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose and transmission oil cooler.

  17. DISCONNECT OUTLET NO. 1 OIL COOLER HOSE

      *1 Transmission Oil Cooler Tube Clamp

      Remove the transmission oil cooler tube clamp.

    2. Slide the clip and disconnect the outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose.

  18. DISCONNECT NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler union sub-assembly.

  19. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY WITHOUT HOSE

      *1 Inlet No. 1 Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the clip and disconnect the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the connector tube.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose and connector tube.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly and engine mounting bracket LH.

      *1 No. 1 Oil Cooler Tube Sub-assembly without Hose
      *2 Inlet No. 1 Oil Cooler Hose
      *3 Inlet No. 2 Oil Cooler Hose
      *4 Outlet No. 3 Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 3 clips and remove the inlet No. 1 oil cooler hose, inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose and outlet No. 3 oil cooler hose from the No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose.

  20. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER


    1. A002A49

      Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. Disengage the hook to remove the transmission oil cooler from the automatic transaxle case sub-assembly.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any coolant and automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil cooler.

  21. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL THERMOSTAT

      *1 No. 1 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Outlet No. 1 Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat, No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose.

      *1 No. 2 Transmission Oil Cooler Hose
      *2 Outlet No. 2 Oil Cooler Hose

      Slide the 2 clips and disconnect the No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 2 oil cooler hose from the transmission oil thermostat.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat, No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose and outlet No. 2 oil cooler hose.

    3. A002CBN

      Remove the bolt and transmission oil thermostat from the oil cooler stay.

      Note

      Use a container to catch any automatic transaxle fluid which flows out of the transmission oil thermostat.
