DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION
The diagnosis function makes the cruise control indicator (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) or cruise control indicator (constant speed control mode) go out, the master warning light turn on and displays a warning message when a malfunction is detected. When a malfunction occurs in the dynamic radar cruise control system, the DTCs are stored in the ECM.
DESCRIPTION
The ECM controls the dynamic radar cruise control system of the vehicle. The data and DTCs related to the dynamic radar cruise control system can be read from the DLC3 of the vehicle. Use the GTS to check and solve the problem.
CHECK DLC3
Check the DLC3.
CHECK INDICATOR
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
| *1 | Cruise Control Indicator (Constant speed control mode) |
| *2 | Cruise Control Indicator (Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) |
Check that the cruise control indicator (constant speed control mode) or cruise control indicator (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) illuminates when the dynamic radar cruise control system is turned on using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button), and that the indicator goes out when the dynamic radar cruise control system is turned off using the cruise control main switch (ON-OFF button).
Tech Tips
If the indicator check result has a malfunction, proceed to troubleshooting of the combination meter assembly.
While driving with the dynamic radar cruise control system controlling vehicle speed, the ECM will automatically cancel control of vehicle speed by the dynamic radar cruise control system when a malfunction is detected in one of the following: vehicle speed sensors, stop light switch assembly, or other related parts. When control of vehicle speed by the dynamic radar cruise control system is automatically canceled, the cruise control indicator (constant speed control mode) or cruise control indicator (vehicle-to-vehicle distance control mode) go out. In addition, a warning message may be displayed and malfunction data is stored as a DTC.
