ECM REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note


    • Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

    • After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the mass air flow meter sub-assembly connector and disengage the wire harness clamp.

    2. A0028AA

      Remove the 2 bolts from the air cleaner assembly.

    3. Disconnect the air hose from the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.

    4. Loosen the hose clamp and separate the air cleaner assembly from the No. 1 air cleaner hose.

    5. Separate the air cleaner assembly from the inlet air cleaner assembly.

    6. Disengage the clamp to remove the air cleaner assembly.

  4. REMOVE ECM

      Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

      Note

      After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.

    2. A0027SP

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Remove the 3 bolts and ECM.

      Note

      If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  5. REMOVE ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and ECM bracket from the ECM.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket from the ECM.
