SFI SYSTEM Fuel Injector Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The fuel injector assemblies are located on the intake port. They inject fuel into the cylinders based on the signals from the ECM.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY)

    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connectors.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C24-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C26-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C27-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C29-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C30-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      C31-2 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

  2. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Inspect the fuel injector assembly.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY - ECM)


    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C24-1 - C1-58 (#10) Always Below 1 Ω
      C26-1 - C1-54 (#20) Always Below 1 Ω
      C27-1 - C1-57 (#30) Always Below 1 Ω
      C29-1 - C1-53 (#40) Always Below 1 Ω
      C30-1 - C1-56 (#50) Always Below 1 Ω
      C31-1 - C1-55 (#60) Always Below 1 Ω
      C24-1 or C1-58 (#10) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C26-1 or C1-54 (#20) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C27-1 or C1-57 (#30) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C29-1 or C1-53 (#40) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C30-1 or C1-56 (#50) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C31-1 or C1-55 (#60) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEMICONDUCTOR PWR INTEGRATION ECU - FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the fuel injector assembly connectors.

    2. Disconnect the semiconductor pwr integration ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1G-3 - C24-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 - C26-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 - C27-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 - C29-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 - C30-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 - C31-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      1G-3 or C24-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-3 or C26-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-3 or C27-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-3 or C29-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      1G-3 or C30-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
