INTAKE MANIFOLD INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (for ACIS)


    1. Inspect the diaphragm.


      1. A018KFI

        Using a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mmHg, 17.7 in.Hg) or higher to the diaphragm chamber. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.

      2. After applying vacuum in the step above, check that the actuator rod operates.

        If the operation is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.

  2. INSPECT VACUUM TANK AND NO. 1 CHECK VALVE


    1. A018L6A

      Disconnect the vacuum hose from the No. 1 check valve.

    2. Using a vacuum pump, apply vacuum to the No. 1 check valve. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 check valve.

    3. Connect the vacuum hose to the No. 1 check valve.

    4. A018M7A

      Using a vacuum pump, apply a vacuum of 60 kPa (450 mmHg, 17.7 in.Hg) or higher to the vacuum tank. Check that there is no change in vacuum after 1 minute.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the intake manifold.
