The swing grille actuator assembly receives signals from the air conditioning amplifier assembly via LIN communication.

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following procedure.

  • If the swing grille actuator assembly is replaced with a new one, perform "Change Radiator Shutter Control State".

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - SWING GRILLE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the K10 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the B7 swing grille actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K10-28 (BLIN) - B7-2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      K10-28 (BLIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      B7-2 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWING GRILLE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - AUXILIARY BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B7-6 (+B) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B7-4 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. REPLACE SWING GRILLE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the swing grille actuator assembly with a new or known good one.
