DESCRIPTION

The swing grille actuator assembly has a built-in ECU and stores a DTC when there is an internal ECU malfunction.

When either of the following internal ECU malfunctions is detected (microcomputer malfunction):


  • Data flash malfunction

  • A/D conversion malfunction

  • Swing grille actuator assembly

  • Radiator shutter sub-assembly

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note

If the swing grille actuator assembly is replaced with a new one, perform "Change Radiator Shutter Control State".

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (SHUTTER OPERATION)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Grille Shutter / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Grill Shutter > Active Test
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Shutter Closing Operation Lock Detection Grille shutter OFF or Close Closing operation performed until motor stops due to lock detection.
      Shutter Opening Operation Lock Detection Grille shutter OFF or Open Opening operation performed until motor stops due to lock detection.

    2. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
