REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT REAR LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH

   
   

   1. Remove the rear light lens and body LH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body LH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body LH and check that the light comes on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 Taillight comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light lens and body LH.

   3. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body LH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body LH and check that the light comes on. (w/ Rear Fog Light)

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 Rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light lens and body LH.

2. INSPECT REAR LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE LH

   
   

   1. Reconnect the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly LH to the rear light lens and body LH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Socket and Wire Sub-assembly LH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly LH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (TAIL) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Taillight comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (B/U)*1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Back-up light comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (RF)*2 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly LH.

      
      

      • *1: w/o Rear Fog Light

      • *2: w/ Rear Fog Light

3. INSPECT REAR LIGHT LENS AND BODY RH

   
   

   1. Remove the rear light lens and body RH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body RH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body RH and check that the light comes on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 Taillight comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light lens and body RH.

   3. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Lens and Body RH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light lens and body RH and check that the light comes on. (w/ Rear Fog Light)

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 Rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light lens and body RH.

4. INSPECT REAR LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE RH

   
   

   1. Reconnect the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly RH to the rear light lens and body RH.

   2. 

      *a	Component without harness connected (Rear Light Socket and Wire Sub-assembly RH)

      Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly RH and check that the lights come on.

      OK
      Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (TAIL) Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Taillight comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (B/U)*1 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Back-up light comes on Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 4 (RF)*2 Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 3 (E) Rear fog light comes on

      If the result is not as specified, replace the rear light socket and wire sub-assembly RH.
