DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly receives a text data signal from the radio receiver assembly via local bus communication.

Based on this signal, audio and visual system or navigation system information is displayed on the multi-information display.

This DTC is stored when the combination meter assembly cannot receive the signal.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. w/ Navigation System


      1. Check if navigation system DTCs are output.

        Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes
        OK

    2. w/ Audio and Visual System


      1. Check if audio and visual system DTCs are output.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K58 radio receiver assembly connector.*1

    3. Disconnect the K73 radio receiver assembly connector.*2

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K4-2 (MSCL) - K58-21 (CNL2)*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      K4-3 (MSCH) - K58-20 (CNH2)*1 Always Below 1 Ω

      K4-2 (MSCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  3. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or known good one.

      Click here

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait 30 seconds.

      Note

      A maximum of 30 seconds is required to send/receive the registration information between the combination meter assembly and radio receiver assembly*1 or radio receiver assembly*2.

      Operate the steering pad switch assembly and check that the audio tab illuminates.

      Note

      For F SPORT models, operate the steering pad switch assembly after moving the movable meter ring.

    4. Check for DTCs.
