DESCRIPTION

The combination meter assembly receives a switch operation signal from the windshield wiper switch assembly via LIN communication.

Based on this signal, the wiper switch status is displayed on the multi-information display.

When IG voltage is 9.5 V or more and the following condition is detected:

No communication with windshield wiper switch assembly continues for 3 seconds or more

  • Harness or connector

  • Windshield wiper switch assembly

  • Rain sensor

  • Combination meter assembly

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY OR RAIN SENSOR)


    1. Disconnect the K3 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the K24 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.

    3. Disconnect the S7 rain sensor connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K3-34 (LIN) - K24-8 (MPX1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K3-34 (LIN) - S7-1 (MPX) Always Below 1 Ω
      K3-34 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. REPLACE RAIN SENSOR


    1. Replace the rain sensor with a new or known good one.

      Click here

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Click here


      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes
      OK
      DTC B150C is not output.

  3. REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Replace the windshield wiper switch assembly with a new or known good one.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

    3. Check for DTCs.
