LIGHTING SYSTEM Power Switch Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The illuminated entry system controls the power switch illumination.

Note

Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Active Test
      Tester Display Measurement Item Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Power/Engine SW Light Power switch illumination OFF or ON

      When performing this Active Test, make sure the following condition is met:

      The power switch illumination is off (15 seconds or more have elapsed since it turned from on to off) and the power switch is on (ACC) or on (IG), or the engine is running.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Active Test
      Tester Display
      Power/Engine SW Light
      OK
      Power switch illumination comes on.
      Result

  2. INSPECT POWER SWITCH


    1. Remove the power switch.

      Click here

    2. Inspect the power switch.

      Click here

      OK
      Power switch illumination is normal.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SWITCH - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the K137 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K50-9 (SWIL) - K137-17 (SWIL) Always Below 1 Ω
      K50-6 (AGND) - K137-12 (AGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      K50-9 (SWIL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K50-6 (AGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
