LIGHTING SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT INTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    The interior light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Power Switch Illumination

    • Map Light Assembly (Front Dome Light)

    • Spot Light Assembly (Rear Dome Light)

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly LH

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly RH


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly Any door is opened when all doors are closed.
      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the interior lights illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out:


      • The key enters any actuation area around the doors when the power switch is off and all doors are closed.*1

      • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off with all doors closed and locked.

      • The power switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed after any door is opened when the power switch is turned off.

      Fade out immediately

      When any of the following conditions is met, the interior lights fade out immediately:


      • The power switch is turned from off to on (ACC) when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are locked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and any door is unlocked.

      • All doors are locked again when all doors are already closed and locked.


      • *1: When the lights are on, if the key leaves all of the actuation areas around the doors, after approximately 3 seconds, the lights fade out.

  2. INSPECT INSIDE HANDLE LIGHT CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    The inside handle light control illuminates the lights below.


    • Front Door Inside Handle Illumination Light Assembly LH

    • Front Door Inside Handle Illumination Light Assembly RH


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Fade in and illuminate constantly

      When either of the following conditions is met, the lights fade in:


      • Any door is opened when all doors are closed.

      • The power switch is turned from off to on (IG).

      Illuminate for 15 seconds, and then fade out

      When any of the following conditions is met, the lights illuminate for 15 seconds and then fade out:


      • Any door is unlocked when the power switch is off, all doors are closed and all doors are locked.

      • The power switch is turned from on (IG) to off when all doors are closed.

      • All doors are closed when any door is opened and the power switch is off.

      Fade out immediately All doors are locked when the power switch is off.
      Dim The power switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is moved out of P.
  3. INSPECT BATTERY SAVING CONTROL OPERATION

    Note

    Perform this inspection with the customize parameters at the initial settings.

    The lights controlled by the battery saving control are as follows:


    • Power Switch Illumination

    • Map Light Assembly (Front Dome Light, Front Map Light)

    • Spot Light Assembly (Rear Dome Light, Rear Map Light)

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly LH

    • No. 1 Interior Illumination Light Assembly RH

    • No. 1 Luggage Compartment Light Assembly

    • Vanity Light Assembly LH

    • Vanity Light Assembly RH

    • Courtesy Light Assembly LH

    • Courtesy Light Assembly RH

    • Front Door Inside Handle Illumination Light Assembly LH

    • Front Door Inside Handle Illumination Light Assembly RH


    1. The operations and conditions of this control are described below.

      Operation Condition
      Battery saving

      When 20 minutes elapse after the power switch is turned from on (ACC or IG) to off and the lights that operate remain on, the lights are turned off.

      Tech Tips

      Battery saving control is canceled when any of the following operations is performed before the lights are turned off by the battery saving control. After the operation is performed, the lights remain on for another 20 minutes and then the lights are turned off.


      • The power switch is turned on (ACC or IG).

      • Any door is opened and closed.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened and closed.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • The key enters any exterior actuation area.
