THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM Intrusion Sensor Cancel Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the intrusion sensor cancel switch on the map light assembly is pressed, the sensor off signal is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) which causes the intrusion sensor (theft warning ultrasonic sensor) to stop operating.

If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (INTRUSION SENS OFF SW)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      ON: Intrusion sensor cancel switch on

      The GTS display changes correctly in response to the intrusion sensor cancel switch status.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the K1 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    2. Disconnect the S3 map light assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K1-13 (SSW1) - S3-22 (SOFF) Always Below 1 Ω
      K1-13 (SSW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S3-22 (SOFF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S3-19 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. INSPECT INTRUSION SENSOR CANCEL SWITCH (MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY)


    1. Remove the intrusion sensor cancel switch (map light assembly).
