TRANSMITTER BATTERY REPLACEMENT

PROCEDURE


  1. REPLACE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard, Type A)

    Note

    Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.


    1. A011PAKC01

      Push the release hook knob and remove the mechanical key as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. A011Q9OC01
      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to remove the transmitter housing cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. A011MO1C01
      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and gently remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032).

      Note


      • Do not push the terminals with your finger.

      • Do not forcibly pry up the transmitter battery as the terminals may be damaged.

      • Do not touch the transmitter battery with wet hands. Moisture may cause rust.

      • Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.

      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. A011O6H

      Install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during installation.

      • Keep the inside of the transmitter housing cover interior free of dust and oil.

      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.

    5. A011Q3C

      Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

    6. A011NWL

      Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.

    7. Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.

      OK
      Transmitter LED illuminates when a switch is pressed.
  2. REPLACE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard, Type B)

    Note

      Push the release hook knob and remove the mechanical key as indicated by the arrows, in the order shown in the illustration.

    2. A011P9SC01
      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to remove the transmitter housing cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. A011MVE

      Disengage the 2 claws and remove the transmitter battery housing cover.

    4. A011N33C01
      *a Protective Tape

      Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and gently remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032).

    6. Engage the 2 claws to install the transmitter battery housing cover.

      Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

    8. A011NWL

      Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter.

    9. Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.

      Transmitter LED illuminates when a switch is pressed.
  3. REPLACE TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type)


    1. A011N9N

      Lightly hold and pull the battery cover out as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Do not insert a screwdriver, etc. between the case and battery cover or forcibly bend the battery cover as this may deform the battery cover.

      Tech Tips


      • If the battery cover is held too firmly, it becomes harder to pull out.

      • If the cover is slippery and it is difficult to pull it out, use non-slip gloves to pull the cover out.

    2. A011NHF

      Remove the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412).

    3. A011O0F

      Insert the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412) between the 2 terminals deep in the card as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Insert the transmitter (card key) battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.

      • Do not deform the terminals.

      • If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the transmitter (card key) battery.

      Tech Tips

      Check if the card terminals are damaged or if foreign matter has entered the card.

    4. A011P5Z

      Install the battery cover as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • Push on the battery cover until its attachment hooks are engaged securely.

      • When the battery cover is removed and installed many times, be careful as the cover may become loose.
