PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

    1. A0021KEC15
      *a

      Component without harness connected

(Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch (Warning Canceling Switch Assembly))

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8 (B) - 11 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch on (not protruding) Below 1 Ω
8 (B) - 11 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch off (protruding) 10 kΩ or higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

    2. Check that the blind spot monitor indicator illuminates.

      1. A0021KEC16
        *a

        Component without harness connected

(Blind Spot Monitor Main Switch (Warning Canceling Switch Assembly))

Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) connector and check operation of the blind spot monitor indicator, as shown in the table below.

        OK
        Connection Condition Specified Condition

        Auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (B)

        Auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 12 (E)

Blind spot monitor main switch on (not protruding) Blind spot monitor indicator illuminates
Blind spot monitor main switch off (protruding) Blind spot monitor indicator does not illuminate

If the result is not as specified, replace the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

    3. Check that the switch illuminates.
