DESCRIPTION

If the telematics transceiver detects an error in communication between itself and the airbag sensor assembly as a result of a self check, this DTC will be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC (AIRBAG SYSTEM)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 20 seconds.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check if airbag system DTCs are output.

      Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  3. REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER


    1. Replace the telematics transceiver with a new one.

    1. Disconnect the K158 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the K51 airbag sensor assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K158-24 (GSW) - K51-24 (GSW3) Always Below 1 Ω
      K158-24 (GSW) or K51-24 (GSW3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
