This DTC is stored when the telematics transceiver detects an open or short circuit in the manual (SOS) switch.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK DTC


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG) and wait for 20 seconds.

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

  2. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH)


    1. Remove the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      13 (SIG1) - 9 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch not pressed 392 to 432 Ω
      13 (SIG1) - 9 (GND3) Manual (SOS) switch pressed 78 to 86 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH))


    1. Disconnect the K158 telematics transceiver connector.

    2. Disconnect the S4 map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K158-27 (SIG1) - S4-13 (SIG1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K158-26 (SIG-) - S4-9 (GND3) Always Below 1 Ω
      K158-27 (SIG1) or S4-13 (SIG1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K158-26 (SIG-) or S4-9 (GND3) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  4. REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER
