AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM(w/o Parallel Parking Assist Function) Switch Lights of Remote Touch do not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

Power is supplied to the remote operation board illumination when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.

Tech Tips

Only the "AUDIO", "MENU" and return switches on the remote operation board illuminate.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL)


    1. Disconnect the K79 remote operation board connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K79-1 (ILL+) - Body ground

      Power switch off

      Light control switch in tail or head position

      		 11 to 14 V
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REMOTE OPERATION BOARD - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the K79 remote operation board connector.

    2. Disconnect the K3 combination meter assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K79-8 (ILL-) - K3-39 (ILL-) Always Below 1 Ω
      K79-8 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Result
      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    NG

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  3. REPLACE REMOTE OPERATION BOARD


    1. Replace the remote operation board.

    2. Check if the switch illumination turns on.

      OK
      The switch illumination turns on when the light control switch is in the tail or head position.
