  1. CHECK DTCs (USING GTS)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes.


      1. Chassis > EMPS > Trouble Codes


    6. Check the details of the DTCs.

  2. CHECK DTCs (USING SST CHECK WIRE)


    1. A01MS0CC04
      *a DLC3

      Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      *a Normal System Code
      *b Codes 21 and 22
      *c ON
      *d OFF
      *e Seconds
      *f Code 21
      *g Code 22

      Read and write down any DTCs indicated by the blinking of the EPS warning light on the combination meter assembly. Refer to the illustration to the right for examples of the normal system code and DTCs 21 and 22.

      Tip:

      • If the EPS warning light does not blink to display stored DTCs or the normal system code, inspect the circuit shown in the table below.

      • If two or more malfunctions are detected simultaneously, DTCs will be displayed in ascending numerical order.

    4. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for DTC information.

  3. CLEAR DTCs (USING GTS)


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    4. Turn the GTS on.

    5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / EMPS / Trouble Codes.


      1. Chassis > EMPS > Clear DTCs


    6. Clear the DTCs.

    7. Turn the power switch off.

    8. Disconnect the GTS from the DLC3.

  4. CLEAR DTCs (USING SST CHECK WIRE)


    1. A01MS0CC05
      *a DLC3

      Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3, and also terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Disconnect and reconnect terminal 13 (TC) of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.

    4. Check that the EPS warning light blinks the normal system code.

    5. Turn the power switch off.

    6. Remove SST from the DLC3.
