FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY


    1. Secure the front lower suspension arm assembly in a vise using aluminum plates.

      Note

      When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

    2. Install the front lower ball joint assembly to the front lower suspension arm assembly with the nut.

      Torque:
      162 N*m  { 1652 kgf*cm, 119 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Prevent oil from adhering to the threaded and tapered parts.

    3. Install a new clip.

      Note

      Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

  2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY
