PROCEDURE
DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
Remove the rear drive shaft assembly LH and rear drive shaft assembly RH.
REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT WITH CENTER BEARING ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT TAIL EXHAUST PIPE LH
REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY
Note
Do not damage the installation surface when removing the rear differential carrier assembly.
The remaining oil may leak out when removing the rear differential carrier assembly.
Securely support the rear differential carrier assembly while performing this step to avoid excessively tilting or dropping the rear differential carrier assembly.
Remove the bolts with the rear differential carrier assembly secured.
Support the rear differential carrier assembly with a transmission jack.
CAUTION:
The rear differential carrier assembly is a heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
w/o Dynamic Damper:
Using SST and a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 3 bolts (B).
Remove the 2 bolts (A), 2 rear upper differential mount stoppers, 2 rear lower differential mount stoppers and rear differential carrier assembly.
Tech Tips
As there are 2 types of bolts (A), the same type bolt must be used during removal and installation.

w/ Dynamic Damper:
Using SST and a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts (B) and rear differential dynamic damper.
Using SST and a 12 mm hexagon wrench, remove the bolt (C).
Remove the 2 bolts (A), 2 rear upper differential mount stoppers, 2 rear lower differential mount stoppers and rear differential carrier assembly.
Tech Tips
As there are 2 types of bolts (A), the same type bolt must be used during removal and installation.
