SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (w/ No. 2 Engine Under Cover)

  3. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

  4. SEPARATE FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut and separate the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly from the lever of the transmission floor shift assembly.

  5. SUPPORT HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MTWC

      Support the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly with a transmission jack.

      Note


      • To protect the transmission oil pan sub-assembly, do not use the transmission oil pan sub-assembly and transmission oil pan sub-assembly setting bolt to support the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly. Place attachments on the transmission jack saddle.

      • Make sure that the attachments and the transmission oil pan sub-assembly are centered on the transmission jack.

  6. SEPARATE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING MEMBER

      Remove the 4 bolts and separate the rear engine mounting member from the body.

  7. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER POSITION SENSOR

      Tilt down the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.

      Note

      Make sure that the cooling fan and fan shroud do not contact the engine assembly when tilting the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.

      Disconnect the shift lever position sensor connector.

      Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever with the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly from the shift lever position sensor.

      *1 Lock Plate
      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry out the lock plate.

    5. Remove the lock nut and lock plate from the shift lever position sensor.

    6. A01MSIS

      Remove the 2 bolts and shift lever position sensor from the hybrid vehicle transmission assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the manual shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the shift lever position sensor as the detent spring may become detached from the manual shaft.
