DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Cruise SET Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The driving support ECU assembly illuminates the cruise control SET indicator by sending indicator output demand signals to the combination meter assembly via CAN communication. The cruise control SET indicator illuminates when the dynamic radar cruise control system is controlling vehicle speed. The cruise SET indicator light circuit uses CAN communication. If the cruise control SET indicator is not functioning correctly, check for CAN communication DTCs before troubleshooting this circuit.

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

Observe the following items for safety reasons when using GTS:


  • Before using the GTS, read the instruction manual.

  • Prevent the GTS cable from being caught on the pedals, shift lever or steering wheel when driving with the GTS connected to the vehicle.

  • When driving the vehicle for testing purposes, 2 people are required. One person should operate the GTS while the other drives the vehicle.

Note

When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU assembly which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.

    5. Perform "Active Test" according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Active Test

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Turn the cruise control system on using the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button).

    2. Drive at a speed between approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) and 180 km/h (112 mph).

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.

    4. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
