EXHAUST MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSMISSION

  2. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

    Click here

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR


    1. A01MS1H

      Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  4. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (TWC: Front Catalyst)

      w/o EGR System:


      1. Remove the 5 nuts and exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      w/ EGR System:


      1. Remove the 2 bolts and 5 nuts, separate the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst) from the cylinder head sub-assembly and EGR cooler assembly.

      2. Remove the gasket from the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      3. Remove the EGR cooler gasket from the EGR cooler assembly.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR


    1. Remove the 5 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR


    1. Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 manifold converter insulator from the exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly (TWC: Front Catalyst).
