INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  2. REMOVE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER

    Click here

  3. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  4. DISCONNECT INVERTER RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01MS57

      Remove the 2 bolts and inverter reserve tank assembly from the No. 1 inverter reserve tank bracket.

  5. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER

  6. REMOVE VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  7. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)

    Click here

  8. REMOVE OUTLET HEATER WATER HOSE A


    1. A01MT3R

      Remove the heater water hose set from the outlet heater water hose A.

    2. Using pliers, grip the tabs of the clips and slide each clip to disconnect the outlet heater water hose A from the radiator unit sub-assembly and No. 2 water by-pass hose pipe.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet heater water hose A.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  9. DISCONNECT INLET HEATER WATER HOSE A

      Using pliers, grip the tabs of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet heater water hose A from the radiator unit sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet heater water hose A.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE (w/ EGR System)

  11. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD


    1. A01MTU3

      Disengage the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp and disconnect the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp from the wire harness clamp bracket.

      *1 No. 2 Fuel Vapor Feed Hose
      *2 Ventilation Hose Assembly

      Disconnect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose from the intake manifold.

    3. Slide the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose assembly from the intake manifold.

    4. Disconnect the ventilation hose assembly from the wire harness clamp bracket.

    5. Disconnect the 7 wire harness clamps from the 2 wire harness clamp brackets and intake manifold.

    6. Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the intake manifold clamp.

    7. Remove the 3 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets from the intake manifold.

      w/o EGR system:

      Remove the 2 nuts, EGR hole cover plate and EGR inlet gasket from the intake manifold.

    9. A01MT7D

      Remove the 7 bolts, intake manifold stay and intake manifold.

    10. Remove the gasket from the intake manifold.

  12. REMOVE STUD BOLT

    Tech Tips

    If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.


    1. A01MTUK

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 4 stud bolts from the intake manifold.
