MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE SENSOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY

    1. A01MRHMC24
      *a

Front view of wire harness connector

      (to Vacuum Sensor Assembly)

      Check the terminal voltage.

      1. Disconnect the vacuum sensor assembly.

      2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        F10-3 (VC) - F10-2 (E2) IG ON 4.75 to 5.25 V
        F10-1 (P1M) - F10-2 (E2) IG ON 3.0 to 5.0 V

If the result is not as specified, open or short in VC or E2 circuit.

    2. Check the intake manifold pressure.

      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / MAP.

Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Data List
        Tester Display
        MAP
      5. Read the values displayed on the GTS.

        OK
        Equivalent to atmospheric pressure.

        Tech Tips

        • Standard atmospheric pressure is 101 kPa (abs) [758 mmHg (abs)].

        • For every 100 m (328 ft) increase in altitude, pressure drops by 1 kPa (7.5 mmHg). This varies by weather.
