REAR SUNSHADE SYSTEM SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


  1. GENERAL

    The rear sunshade system has the following functions: manual operation, shift-linked operation and key-off operation.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT

    Component Outline
    Rear sunshade relay The rear sunshade relay controls the rotational direction of the motor, which raises or lowers the rear window shade assembly.
    Rear window shade assembly
    • The built-in motor raises or lowers the rear window shade assembly.

    • The built-in limit switch detects the rear window shade assembly condition.

    Rear sunshade switch assembly The rear sunshade switch assembly sends operation signals to the rear sunshade relay.
  3. SYSTEM OPERATION

    The rear sunshade system has the following features.

    Function Outline
    Manual operation This function causes the rear window shade assembly to raise or lower when the rear sunshade switch assembly is pushed.
    Shift-linked operation

    This function causes the rear window shade assembly to lower when the shift lever is moved to R with the rear window shade assembly raised.

    When any of the following conditions is met, the rear window shade assembly is raised:


    • The shift lever is moved to P.

    • The shift lever is moved to D and vehicle speed reaches 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or more.

    • The power switch is pushed.

    Key-off operation This function makes it possible to operate the rear window shade assembly for up to 72 seconds after the power switch is turned on (ACC) or off.
