AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM ECO Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) is turned on, the air conditioning amplifier assembly receives a combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) ON signal and controls the air conditioning to enhance fuel efficiency.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.


      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

      ON: Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) being turned and held at ECO position

      Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) condition displayed on the GTS changes with the actual switch operation.

  2. INSPECT COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECO MODE SWITCH)


    1. Remove the combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch).

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      11 (ECO) - 16 (E) Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      11 (ECO) - 16 (E) Combination switch assembly (ECO mode switch) being turned and held at ECO position Below 50 Ω

    1. Disconnect the K10 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K10-29 (ECOS) - K81-11 (ECO) Always Below 1 Ω
      K10-29 (ECOS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY (ECO MODE SWITCH) - BODY GROUND)


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      K81-16 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
