PROCEDURE
PRECAUTION (w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)
Note
After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal notices before proceeding with work.
REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag)
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

Lift up the front edge of the rear seat cushion assembly as shown in the illustration and disengage the 2 hooks on the front side of the rear seat cushion frame from the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
Note
Be sure to hold the part of the seat cushion assembly directly next to the rear seat cushion lock hooks when lifting it up. Lifting a different part of the cushion may deform the rear seat cushion frame.

Disengage the 2 hooks on the rear side of the rear seat cushion frame from the child restraint seat anchor bracket hooks.

Pass the rear seat inner belt assembly through the rubber band of the rear seat cushion assembly.
Pass the 2 rear seat inner belts through the rear seat cushion assembly and remove the rear seat cushion assembly.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK
Disengage the 2 claws to remove the rear seat cushion lock hook as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY
Remove the rear seat center headrest assembly.
REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH
REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH

w/ Rear Seat Side Airbag
Disconnect the airbag connector.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)
Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
Note
Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.

Remove the bolt.
Disengage the guide and hook.

Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Disconnect the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly RH from the rear seat shoulder belt guide RH.
Remove the rear side seatback assembly RH.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure as for the RH side.
REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
Fold the rear seatback assembly RH forward.
Disengage the 2 clips.

Disengage the 4 fasteners as shown in the illustration.
Remove the 3 bolts.
Disengage the guide to remove the rear seatback assembly RH.
Note
Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
Fold the rear seatback assembly LH forward.
Disengage the 3 clips.

Remove the 3 bolts.
Disengage the guide to remove the rear seatback assembly LH.
