POP UP HOOD LIFTER REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

CAUTION:

If the hood release lever is pulled after the pop up hood lifter assembly is activated, the hood may rise more.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET

  4. REMOVE POP UP HOOD LIFTER ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the pop up hood lifter assembly, keep the deployment side facing upward.


    1. Check that the power switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      *a Matchmark

      Put a matchmark at the position where the pop up hood lifter assembly is installed as shown in the illustration.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts and disengage the hook to separate the pop up hood lifter assembly.

      *a White Housing Lock
      *b Yellow CPA
      B003XUN Slide

      Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

    6. Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector to remove the pop up hood lifter assembly.

      Note

      Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting the connector.
