DESCRIPTION

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator (air conditioning control assembly).

The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator indicates the operation condition of the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly and lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.

DTC B1660/43 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator circuit.

  1. CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CONDITION


    1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

    2. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

      Refer to the normal condition of the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator.

  2. CHECK CONNECTORS


    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly, air conditioning control assembly and instrument panel junction block assembly.

      OK
      The connectors are properly connected.

      Tech Tips

      If the connectors are not properly connected, reconnect the connectors and proceed to the next inspection.

    4. Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assembly, air conditioning control assembly and instrument panel junction block assembly.

    5. Check that the terminals of the connectors are not damaged.

    4. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

  4. CHECK DTC

      Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the connector to the airbag sensor assembly.

    4. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    5. Clear the DTCs stored in memory.
