WINDSHIELD DEICER SWITCH INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR HEATER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A011PW8C01
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror Heater Switch Assembly)

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      6 - 9 Outer mirror heater switch assembly on Below 1 Ω
      6 - 9 Outer mirror heater switch assembly off 10 kΩ or higher

      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror heater switch assembly.

    2. A011PW8C02
      *a Indicator Light
      *b Illumination
      *c

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror Heater Switch Assembly)

      Check that the indicator light illuminates.

      OK
      Tester Connection Specified Condition

      Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 6

      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 10

      		 Outer mirror heater switch assembly indicator illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror heater switch assembly.

    3. Check that the illumination illuminates.

      OK
      Tester Connection Specified Condition

      Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 8

      Auxiliary battery negative (-) → 7

      		 Outer mirror heater switch assembly illumination illuminates

      If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror heater switch assembly.
