GENERATOR REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT

  4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

    Click here

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE

      Slide the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 radiator hose.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE COOLING FAN ECU

      Disconnect the 3 cooling fan ECU connectors.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and cooling fan ECU.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

      Disconnect the VVT sensor connector and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    2. Remove the 3 nuts and disconnect the wire harness.

  10. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

      *1 Terminal Cap

      Remove the terminal cap.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire bracket.

    3. Remove the nut and disconnect the engine wire.

    4. Disconnect the generator assembly connector, and detach the 2 clamps.

      Remove the nut, and disconnect the generator bracket.

      Remove the 2 bolts and generator assembly.

    7. B003WWL

      Remove the bolt and generator bracket.

    8. Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.

    9. B003SYR

      Using an E6 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the stud bolt.
