Tech Tips
Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
The following procedure is for the LH side.
The speed sensor rotor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the speed sensor rotor is malfunctioning, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY (w/o Spare Tire)
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY LH (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY RH (w/ Spare Tire)
REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH
REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH
REMOVE REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (for Fixed Seat Type)
REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (for Fold Down Seat Type)
SEPARATE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
Disengage the 2 claws and open the cover.
Remove the bolt and rope hook assembly.
Remove the 4 clips.
for LH Side:
Remove the clip (A).
Separate the luggage compartment trim cover from the body.
REMOVE REAR WHEEL
SEPARATE REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER
Remove the 2 nuts and separate the rear wheel house liner.
REMOVE REAR SPEED SENSOR
Turn back the luggage compartment trim cover until the rear speed sensor connector can be seen.
Disengage the rear speed sensor connector.

Remove the 3 bolts and separate the rear speed sensor and 2 sensor clamps from the rear axle carrier sub-assembly and rear upper control arm assembly.
Note
Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the rear speed sensor tip.
Clean the speed sensor installation hole and the contact surfaces every time the rear speed sensor is removed.
Turn back the rear wheel house liner until the grommet can be disengaged.
Remove the 2 nuts and 2 sensor clamps.
Disengage the grommet and remove the rear speed sensor.
