FRONT SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

  • If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

  • The front speed sensor is a component of the front axle hub sub-assembly. If the front speed sensor is malfunctioning, replace the front axle hub sub-assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. SEPARATE FRONT FENDER LINER

    1. Remove the screw and separate the front fender liner.

  5. REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

      Disconnect the connector from the front axle hub sub-assembly.

    2. B003WC7

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 sensor clamps from the front shock absorber assembly and body.

    3. Disengage the clamp from the front No. 1 stabilizer bracket.

    4. Turn back the front fender liner until the bolt can be removed.

    5. B003WTT

      Remove the bolt.

    6. Disconnect the connector to remove the skid control sensor wire.

  6. SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY
