PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY(for 4GR-FSE) DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • When using a vise, place aluminum plates between the part and vise.

  • When using a vise, do not overtighten it.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY


    1. A0123IFC01
      *a Matchmark

      Place matchmarks on both flanges.

    2. A0126K9

      Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 4 washers and propeller shaft assembly.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 CENTER SUPPORT BEARING ASSEMBLY


    1. A0125LY

      Using a chisel and hammer, release the staked part of the nut.

      Note

      Release the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the threads of the propeller intermediate shaft assembly may be damaged.

      *b Hold

      Using SST to hold the universal joint flange, remove the nut and propeller intermediate shaft washer.

      *a Matchmark

      Put matchmarks on the propeller intermediate shaft assembly and universal joint flange.

    4. A0124J9C02
      *a Turn
      *b Hold

      Using SST, remove the universal joint flange from the propeller intermediate shaft assembly.

      Note

      Apply grease to the threads and tip of the center bolt of SST before use.

    5. Remove the No. 1 center support bearing assembly and 2 center support bearing washers from the propeller intermediate shaft assembly.
