BRAKE BOOSTER(for RHD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL VACUUM SENSOR ASSEMBLY (for 8AR-FTS)


    1. Install a new check valve grommet to the brake booster assembly.

    2. B003UT3C02
      *a 45° +/- 20°
      B003U82 Up

      Install the vacuum sensor assembly to the brake booster assembly as shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install a new check valve grommet to the brake booster assembly.

    2. Install the brake vacuum check valve assembly to the brake booster assembly.

  3. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS


    1. Temporarily install the clevis lock nut and brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake booster assembly.

      Note

      Fully tighten the clevis lock nut when adjusting the brake pedal height.

  4. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET


    1. Install a new brake booster gasket to the brake booster assembly.

  5. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the brake booster assembly to the vehicle body with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      12.7 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not kink or damage the brake lines.

    2. for 8AR-FTS:


      1. Connect the connector to the vacuum sensor assembly.

  6. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN

  7. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING


    1. Install the brake pedal return spring to the push rod pin and steering column assembly.

  8. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET

  9. INSTALL FRONT NO. 5 BRAKE TUBE

    Click here

  10. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

    Click here

  11. CONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE

    Click here

  12. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 BRAKE TUBE

    Click here

  13. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER O-RING

  14. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

    Click here

  16. INSTALL NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY

  17. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  18. BLEED BRAKE SYSTEM

  19. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  20. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL
