BRAKE BOOSTER(for LHD) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL CHECK VALVE GROMMET


    1. Install a new check valve grommet to the brake booster assembly.

  2. INSTALL BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the brake vacuum check valve assembly to the brake booster assembly.

  3. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS


    1. Temporarily install the clevis lock nut and brake master cylinder push rod clevis to the brake booster assembly.

      Note

      Fully tighten the clevis lock nut when adjusting the brake pedal height.

  4. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET


    1. Install a new brake booster gasket to the brake booster assembly.

  5. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the brake booster assembly to the vehicle body with the 4 nuts.

      Torque:
      12.7 N*m  { 130 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not kink or damage the brake lines.

  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 3 BRAKE TUBE


    1. Install the front No. 3 brake tube and engage the clamp.

    2. B003WZHC01
      *1 Front Flexible Hose
      *2 Grommet

      Engage the grommet.

    3. Using a union nut wrench, connect the front No. 3 brake tube to the front flexible hose.

      Torque:
      15.2 N*m  { 155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf }

      Note


      • Do not kink or damage the front No. 3 brake tube.

      • Do not allow the front No. 3 brake tube to twist and interfere with other parts or vehicle body during tightening.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the front No. 3 brake tube from the connecting parts.

      • Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where the union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench.

  7. INSTALL PUSH ROD PIN

  8. INSTALL BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING


    1. Install the brake pedal return spring to the push rod pin and steering column assembly.

  9. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET

  10. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

    Click here

  11. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

  12. CONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE

    Click here

  13. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER O-RING

    Click here

  14. INSTALL BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  16. BLEED BRAKE SYSTEM

  17. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH

    Torque:
    103 N*m  { 1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf }

  18. INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL
