TRANSMISSION WIRE REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE

  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Full Cover Type)

    Click here

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for Half Cover Type)

    Click here

  4. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID


    1. Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the ATF.

    2. Install the drain plug and a new gasket.

      Torque:
      20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *1 Nut

      Remove the 4 bolts, 2 nuts and No. 1 exhaust pipe support bracket sub-assembly.

      Tech Tips

      When removing on the exhaust side, hold the nuts while loosening the bolts.

  6. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 20 bolts, automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly and automatic transmission oil pan gasket.

      Note

      Some fluid will remain in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly. Remove all the bolts and carefully remove the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

  7. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL CLEANER MAGNET

      *1 Transmission Oil Cleaner Magnet

      Remove the 3 transmission oil cleaner magnets from the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

      Examine the particles in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.


      1. Collect any steel chips with the removed transmission oil cleaner magnets. Carefully inspect the foreign matter and particles in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly and on the transmission oil cleaner magnets to anticipate the type of wear you will find in the automatic transmission assembly.

        Steel (magnetic): bearing, gear and clutch plate wear

        Brass (non-magnetic): bush wear

  8. REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 bolts and valve body oil strainer assembly.

      Note

      Be careful as some fluid will come out of the valve body oil strainer assembly.

    2. A01MZ6ZC02
      *1 O-ring

      Remove the O-ring from the valve body oil strainer assembly.

  9. DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION WIRE

      *1 ATF Temperature Sensor
      *2 Temperature Sensor Clamp

      Remove the bolt and temperature sensor clamp.

    2. Separate the ATF temperature sensor.

      *1 Valve Body Wire Harness Clamp

      Remove the 2 bolts and 2 valve body wire harness clamps.

    4. A01MUY6

      Disconnect the 9 solenoid valve connectors.

  10. REMOVE TRANSMISSION WIRE

      Disconnect the transmission wire connector.

      Tech Tips

      Disengage the claw, press down the lever, and disconnect the transmission wire connector.

    2. A01MVAN

      Remove the bolt and pull out the transmission wire.

    3. A01MU6LC04
      *1 O-ring

      Remove the O-ring from the transmission wire.

    4. A01MUD4C03
      *1 O-ring
      *2 ATF Temperature Sensor

      Remove the O-ring from the ATF temperature sensor.
