DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU assembly detects a signal indicating a malfunction in the SFI system or automatic transmission system from the ECM, this DTC is stored.

When DTC C1A40 is stored, the SFI system or automatic transmission system DTC will also be stored.

Note


  • When replacing the driving support ECU assembly, make sure to replace it with a new one. If a device which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU assembly will not match the information from the vehicle, and as a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • First check the CAN communication system by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. After checking that there are no malfunctions in the CAN communication system, proceed with troubleshooting.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (SFI SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

    5. for 2GR-FKS:

      Check for DTCs.

    6. for 8AR-FTS:

      Check for DTCs.

      w/ Canister Pump Module: Click here

  2. CHECK FOR DTCs (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. for 2GR-FKS:


      1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes.

      2. Check for DTCs.

    1. Replace the driving support ECU assembly.

  4. CHECK FOR DTCs (RADAR CRUISE)


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Clear DTCs

    2. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      Tech Tips

      If the following conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.


      1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      2. Wait for 2 seconds or more.

    3. Check for DTCs.
