COOLING FAN MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.

      (Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the cooling fan motor operates smoothly when the battery is connected to the cooling fan motor connector.

      *a Code Mark

      Check the code mark on the cooling fan motor.

    4. Measure the current while the cooling fan motor is operating.

      Standard Current
      Code Mark Condition Specified Condition
      S Battery voltage applied at 20°C (68°F) 10.0 to 16.0 A
      M 13.0 to 19.0 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

    5. Connect the cooling fan motor connector.

  2. CHECK NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

      (No. 2 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Check that the No. 2 cooling fan motor operates smoothly when the battery is connected to the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

      Check the code mark on the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

    4. Measure the current while the No. 2 cooling fan motor is operating.
