PCV VALVE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT PCV VALVE (VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY)


    1. Install a clean hose to the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

    2. Check the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly) operation.

        *b Cylinder Head Cover Sub-assembly Side
        B003U82 Air

        Blow air into the cylinder head cover sub-assembly side and check that air passes through easily.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the valve.

        Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If air does not pass through easily, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

        *a Hose
        *b Intake Manifold Side
        B003U82 Air

        Blow air into the intake manifold side and check that air passes through with difficulty.

        CAUTION:

        Do not suck air through the valve.

        Petroleum substances inside the valve are hazardous to your health.

        If air does not pass through with difficulty, replace the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).

    3. Remove the hose from the PCV valve (ventilation valve sub-assembly).
