PROCEDURE
INSPECT PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV)
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

If the result is not as specified, replace the purge valve (purge VSV).
Check the operation of the purge valve (purge VSV).

Check that air does not flow from the port (F) when air is applied to the port (E).

Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the purge valve (purge VSV) and check that the following occurs when blowing air into the port (E).

If the result is not as specified, replace the purge valve (purge VSV).
INSPECT NO. 1 CHECK VALVE
Install a clean hose to the No. 1 check valve.
Check the operation of the No. 1 check valve.

Blow air into the purge valve (purge VSV) side and check that air passes through easily.
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 check valve.
CAUTION:
Do not suck air through the No. 1 check valve.
Petroleum substances inside the No. 1 check valve are hazardous to your health.

Blow air into the intake manifold side and check that air passes through with difficulty.
If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 check valve.
