FUEL INJECTOR(for Port Injection) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY


    1. Apply a light coat of spindle oil or gasoline to 2 new O-rings, and install them to each fuel injector assembly.

      Note

      Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the groove of the fuel injector assembly when installing each O-ring to the fuel injector assembly.

      Install the 6 fuel injector assemblies to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note


      • Make sure that the fuel injector assembly is located within the plastic stopper as shown in the illustration.

      • Check that there is no damage or foreign matter on the fuel injector assembly installation holes.

      • When installing the O-rings, make sure they do not become pinched or cut.

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Install the 4 delivery pipe spacers to the intake manifold.

    2. Place the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with fuel injector assemblies on the intake manifold.

      Note

      Be careful not to drop the fuel injector assemblies when installing the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

    3. Install the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly with fuel injector assemblies with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      17 N*m  { 173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }

    4. Connect the 6 fuel injector assembly connectors and 2 clamps.

      Connect the fuel tube sub-assembly to the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      Note

      Check if there is any damage or foreign matter on the connecting parts of the fuel lines.


      1. Align the fuel tube connector with the fuel pipe, and push them together until the fuel tube connector makes a "click" sound. If it is difficult to push the fuel pipe into the fuel tube connector, apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the tip of the fuel pipe and reinsert it.

      2. Connect the fuel lines and push in the retainer to engage the 2 claws. Check that the fuel pipe and fuel tube connector are securely connected by pulling on them.

      After connecting the fuel tube sub-assembly, align the paint marks on the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
